Look, we get it - nobody actually enjoys reading privacy policies. But here's the deal: we're serious about keeping your info safe, and you deserve to know what we're doing with it.
At Obsidrix Valorium Fitness Center, we're not just about helping you crush your fitness goals. We also wanna make sure your personal data stays locked down tighter than your form on a heavy squat. This policy breaks down what info we collect, why we need it, and how we protect it. We operate outta Toronto, Ontario, so Canadian privacy laws apply - specifically PIPEDA for those who care about the legal stuff.
When you sign up or train with us, we collect a few different types of info:
We're not selling your data to sketchy third parties or anything like that. Here's what we actually do with it:
Managing your membership, scheduling training sessions, and delivering the programs you signed up for
Making sure our coaches know about any medical conditions or injuries so they can keep you safe
Sending class schedules, appointment reminders, and updates about the facility
Processing payments and managing your account finances
Analyzing how people use our services to make 'em better
Sending promotional stuff about new programs or special offers (you can opt out anytime)
We take security seriously - like, spotting-your-max-lift seriously. Here's what we do:
While we do everything we can to protect your data, no system is 100% hack-proof. We can't guarantee absolute security, but we're constantly working to stay ahead of threats.
If we ever experience a data breach that affects your info, we'll let you know ASAP and tell you what happened and what we're doing about it.
Our website uses cookies - not the protein kind, unfortunately. These are small files that help the site work better.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but heads up - some parts of the site might not work as well. Most browsers let you control cookies pretty easily through their settings menu.
We also use Google Analytics to track site usage. If you wanna opt out of that, you can install Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Under Canadian privacy law, you've got several rights when it comes to your personal data:
You can request a copy of all the personal info we have about you. We'll get it to you within 30 days.
If something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it. Keeping accurate records is important for everyone.
Wanna erase your data? We'll delete it, except for stuff we legally need to keep (like financial records for tax purposes).
Don't wanna receive marketing emails? No problem - there's an unsubscribe link in every email we send, or just tell us directly.
You can ask for your data in a format that's easy to transfer to another service provider.
To exercise any of these rights, just shoot us an email at info@obsidrixvalorium.info or give us a call. We'll verify your identity and then take care of your request.
We do train younger athletes, but we're careful about it. If you're under 18, we need a parent or guardian's consent before collecting any personal info.
For members under 18, we collect the same types of info as adults but we'll communicate primarily with the parent or guardian. Parents can access, review, or request deletion of their child's information at any time.
Our website isn't designed to attract kids under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them without parental consent. If we find out we accidentally collected info from a kid under 13 without proper consent, we'll delete it immediately.
Privacy laws change, our services evolve, and sometimes we need to update this policy. When we make changes, we'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
If we make any major changes that affect how we handle your data, we'll let you know through email or a prominent notice on our website. We're not gonna sneak in big changes without telling you.
It's a good idea to check this page occasionally to stay in the loop. By continuing to use our services after changes are posted, you're agreeing to the updated policy.
Look, privacy stuff can be confusing. If you've got questions, concerns, or just wanna chat about how we handle your data, don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help.
